From our Cambridge office, we support all our satellite offices around the world including; the UK, USA, Australia, Sweden and Belgium as well as additional international project sites.

At Vix we embrace a flexible environment, with working from home options. This position would suit someone from the broader commutable Cambridge area (including London) in order to attend collaboration meetings on an as required basis.

We’re on the hunt for a Cloud Application Support Engineer to help in the development of several new cloud hosted solutions to increase scope of service for our client. You will be pivotal in delivering Android & iPhone supported solutions, to enable more passengers to top-up their transit cards through their devices.

 

Responsibilities

What will your day look like?

  • Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to assist in the support and implementation of new AWS hosted solutions.
  • Investigation, ownership, and resolution of incidents in accordance with ITIL processes.
  • Communicate and advise on incident progress, with clear understanding of risk and impact.
  • Monitor performance and KPIs to ensure a positive client-relationship. 
  • Encourage knowledge transfer across support departments and adopt a Team mentality. 
  • Stand in for the Team Leader when required to facilitate smooth delivery of service and daily operations. 
  • Work flexible hours in a Global environment.

 

Qualifications

What skills will you bring to the team?

  • A flexible approach with a knack for collaboration and an appetite for customer satisfaction. 
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical customers.
  • Proven experience in building and supporting AWS environments, with knowledge of native AWS features.
  • Knowledge of Windows, Linux and Unix operating systems and experience working within an ITIL framework to investigate and resolve incidents.
  • An understanding of MySQL skills and script building or other relevant skills .
