Join our team in the UK, come and work with industry leaders in one the UK’s most popular Tech hubs. From our Cambridge office we support all our hub/satellite offices in locations including; the UK, USA, Australia, Sweden and Belgium as well as our other additional international project sites.

 

At Vix we embrace the work from home flexible environment, this position would suit someone from the broader commutable Cambridge area (including London) in order to attend collaboration meetings on an as required basis.


The Application Support Engineer is responsible for providing technical support for all internal and external customers in relation to level two & level three support incidents. This role will provide technical assistance and incident resolution and where required will be the conduit for escalation to engineering and / or other parts of the business.

 

 

 

What will you be responsible for?

  • Ownership of incidents with adherence to ITIL processes
  • Ensure SLA and KPI compliance to minimise company exposure to NPR costs
  • Maintain and build internal knowledge base to facilitate knowledge transfer across UK support department and migration knowledge to level one support staff
  • Undertake installation, configuration, and preventative maintenance of customers systems
  • Ensure compliance with any process and policy documents (to include incident, problem, change and release processes)

Qualifications

What does our ideal candidate look like?

  • Proven experience in a similar support environment
  • Working knowledge and experience using defined application tools; SQL, Windows Servers, Linux, Oracle, etc
  • Incident & problem solving skills – an analytical approach
  • Time management and ability to prioritise – coupled with high levels of communication skills
  • ITIL qualification
  • Working knowledge of Cloud hosting technologies (e.g. AWS, Azure)
  • Understanding of development applications
