Vix is a global leader in transit ticketing with an unrivalled track record of innovation and deployments around the world. Transit ticketing is now going through a total transformation as digitisation, payments, big data and new sensing technologies are emerging. This means new tokens for transit access such as smartphones and new modes of payments such as account-based ticketing (ABT).
As part of our growing portfolio, we have developed a new multi-tenanted, cloud native, SaaS product offering, Vix Compass, that provides customers with business services to support reporting, analytics and enhanced business insights. Data analytics within and across the AFC system ecosystem is a significant area of investment for Vix and we are now looking for a dedicated Product Manager to take us forward through the next stage of evolution and ensure Vix remains at the forefront of innovation.
The Compass Product Manager will play a leading role in driving our data science strategy, working in partnership with our Product Owners in Perth, Australia, and reporting to the Global Head of Product management in the UK. The role will drive the outbound product management function for Compass, including product plans, pricing, market research, competitor analysis and pipeline growth.
This role will be instrumental to our meeting our growth ambitions, as part of our continued drive to build a world class product management team and improve the customer experience through data and technology. This role will require a clear focus on the market and Vix business strategy in defining product plans. Another key aspect of this role will be to develop and implement product marketing strategies consistent with our business goals and the market opportunity.
As a new role in Vix, this key hire will drive a step change in how we position and differentiate the Compass product and bring a real focus to our competitive context, but also the key drivers for our customers as they go through digital transformation. This role will take a lead in engaging with key customers and help to shape their thinking about the role of data within transit systems. The Compass Product Manager will be responsible for ensuring Vix is seen as the thought leader in the use of data and how it can be used to transform services and the customer experience.
The Compass Product Manager will:
Seven years plus as a product manager
Proven success in leading data analytics solutions within an enterprise or B2B technology product management team
Track record in delivering product differentiation within IOT/Big data/SaaS
Success in managing products delivering significant annual
revenues and with a track record of growth
Proven track record of working across global markets
Proven ability to deliver on ambitious product targets - financially
as well functionally
Experience in driving new products into market successfully
Ability to drive high performance teams to continuous
Strong analytical skills
Experience of both public and private sector environments is especially desirable
Primary degree in technology or business discipline
Product Management qualification
Demonstrable acumen in data and analytics technologies, including data warehouses, data lakes, BI reporting tools, data dictionaries and data models, cognitive and AI/ML approaches and technologies
Transport Industry knowledge and network
Experience in presenting at industry forums
Postgraduate – possibly MBA qualification
Solid commercial acumen
Someone who can work successfully in a range of global work environments
Someone who is resilient and comfortable with complexity
