Overview

Vix is a global leader in transit ticketing with an unrivalled track record of innovation and deployments around the world. Transit ticketing is now going through a total transformation as digitisation, payments, big data and new sensing technologies are emerging. This means new tokens for transit access such as smartphones and new modes of payments such as account-based ticketing (ABT).

As part of our growing portfolio, we have developed a new multi-tenanted, cloud native, SaaS product offering, Vix Compass, that provides customers with business services to support reporting, analytics and enhanced business insights. Data analytics within and across the AFC system ecosystem is a significant area of investment for Vix and we are now looking for a dedicated Product Manager to take us forward through the next stage of evolution and ensure Vix remains at the forefront of innovation.

The Compass Product Manager will play a leading role in driving our data science strategy, working in partnership with our Product Owners in Perth, Australia, and reporting to the Global Head of Product management in the UK. The role will drive the outbound product management function for Compass, including product plans, pricing, market research, competitor analysis and pipeline growth.

This role will be instrumental to our meeting our growth ambitions, as part of our continued drive to build a world class product management team and improve the customer experience through data and technology. This role will require a clear focus on the market and Vix business strategy in defining product plans. Another key aspect of this role will be to develop and implement product marketing strategies consistent with our business goals and the market opportunity.

As a new role in Vix, this key hire will drive a step change in how we position and differentiate the Compass product and bring a real focus to our competitive context, but also the key drivers for our customers as they go through digital transformation. This role will take a lead in engaging with key customers and help to shape their thinking about the role of data within transit systems. The Compass Product Manager will be responsible for ensuring Vix is seen as the thought leader in the use of data and how it can be used to transform services and the customer experience.

Responsibilities

The Compass Product Manager will:

  • Be hands-on, owning and driving outbound product management for Vix Compass
  • Work with a cross functional team to help shape the product vision and strategy
  • Define and deliver the Compass product plan aligned to the product vision and key portfolio deliverables
  • Lead the team to develop a best in class user experience for Compass customers
  • Lead the development of near-term and long-term product roadmaps for Compass
  • Support the creation of sales collateral in collaboration with the Product Marketing team and key business stakeholders
  • Support the creation of compelling and differentiated value propositions for Compass
  • Define and deliver on Compass financial targets within a portfolio framework
  • Identify new markets and new segments across multiple geographies
  • Provide thought leadership within Vix on the potential use of data within transit
  • Engage with and influence key customers to align with Vix strategy and solutions
  • Ensure clear understanding of competitors’ strategies and that Vix has clear differentiation in the market
  • Report on key AFC competitor and industry trends to the leadership team on a regular basis
  • Drive technological innovation in the evolution of Compass to continually drive value and improved customer experience
  • Lead the continued identification of new business and professional services that exploit both product and wider Vix capabilities
  • Support the evolution of the product pricing framework for Vix based on market insights
