Vix Technology is a leading global provider and integrator of smart access, booking, ticketing, payment and clearing systems.  The Company facilitates 6 billion passenger journeys a year – each one processed securely and in a fraction of a second.  Today, transit is being transformed by digital thinking and technologies such as digital payments, internet of things, analytics and cloud. Vix has invested heavily in building our fourth generation platform, Pulse, to lead transit ticketing through this digital transformation.

This platform is built on Vix success in enabling transit authorities and operators to ease passenger movement in over 200 cities and regions including Seattle, Washington State, Utah, Dallas, Texas, Hong Kong, Singapore, Melbourne, Australia, Stockholm, Sweden, Rome, Italy, Cape Town, South Africa, and throughout the United Kingdom.


This is an exciting role within the North American region offering the chance to help transform the company by developing marketing campaigns, delivering new and engaging content on social media, enhancing the website, managing events, and implementing thought leadership programmes. 


Working in close collaboration with the North American Sales VP and General Manager and reporting to the Global Marketing Manager, you will take the lead in North America designing and delivering initiatives to support all Marketing and Communications, ensuring accuracy and tone of voice in all external and internal communications within the region.


You will create and manage marketing programs and content that ensures Vix Technology consistently and regularly attracts, connects and inspires our audiences.


You will edit and produce sales bid documents that represent Vix and our brand by combining multiple contributors' technical language into a single common voice that reads as a cohesive and understandable document. You will digest technical written content and evaluate and execute creation of imagery that gets the point across in a picture in lieu of words.  As the final point in a bid cycle, you will be working under pressure to meet strict deadlines.


The role requires strong relationship skills, as you will proactively work with all departments within the US region and across the global Comms function. You will  create content for dissemination and delivery in line with campaigns, corporate programmes and business objectives. 


We require at least 5 years marketing experience, preferably in the transport industry, and you must be an accomplished communicator.  Experience organising events and the ability to easily digest and distill information into tailored communications along with digital marketing experience required.

Examples of content marketing activities

  • Create and manage the North American marketing strategy across a variety of channels that will help shape the views of Vix’s audiences, supporting brand, corporate, regional business development and recruitment objectives. 
  • Highlight and create content, collateral and thought leadership material, ensuring that a single Vix brand voice, best practice editorial standards and accuracy is upheld throughout.
  • Leverage investments in content so where ever possible it can be reused across multiple channels.


Examples of digital marketing activities

  • With the Global Marketing Manager, take a lead in the development and creation of digital marketing campaigns, ensuring all digital platforms are coordinated and aligned to achieving sales and marketing communication goals.
  • Manage and grow Vix’s day-to-day proactive presence on social media and other digital channels (including internal channels such as the intranet), responding to comments, conflicts and trends.  
  • Provide advice on digital trends/tools and how Vix can maintain interest in its work through digital channels in relation to the business and customers.


Examples of reporting and governance activities

  • Work closely with Vix colleagues in the US and the global marketing team to ensure corporate identity standards, consistency and accuracy are adhered to in all marketing communications projects and Vix materials.
  • Measure and manage campaign and channel metrics to improve marketing cost effectiveness.
  • Create and manage an image/video/content library and provide agreed images on request for our agencies or regions, or establish access rights.


Examples of Industry Events

  • Evaluate numerous industry events in conjunction with the VP of Sales and General Manager for The Americas to determine participation approach.
  • Draft and submit speaking opportunity papers and discussion panels.
  • Design event space and execute on logistics.
  • Create communications plans and execute communications with attendees.
  • Manage plan to capture leads in Salesforce

Management and support

  • Build and maintain a collaborative relationship internally with regional teams and the global marketing team, and externally with communications agencies.  
  • Liaise with all communication agencies as required to create, manage and release content, keeping agencies updated, whilst ensuring work flow and delivery meets expectations and budget.  
  • Manage within allocated budgets, looking for efficiencies and providing quotes, budget planning, and process documentation as required.
  • Provide support to the Global Marketing Manager as required in order to support integrated marketing and communications.

This role may require travel and some extended hours in order to attend industry events and conference calls with global colleagues.





Five years increasingly progressive industry experience.

Excellent copywriting,editing and communications skills.

An understanding of the styles needed for a range of audiences,

and an appreciation of the required approach when writing for online vs offline publications. 


Bachelor degree/ diploma in Journalism or Marketing 

Experience of the transit/ technology sector

Knowledge of InDesign and other Adobe products

Familiar with the basic principle of website usability and interactivity

Experience using Sales Force.

Experience with graphic design is a plus.
