Overview

The Head of Product Marketing will play a leading role in developing and implementing product marketing strategies consistent with business goals and market opportunity. As a new role in Vix, this key hire will drive a step change for Vix in how we position and differentiate Vix products and propositions. Part of this will be to bring a real focus to our competitive context but also the key drivers for our customers as they go through digital transformation.

Responsibilities

The Head of Product Marketing will: 

  • Be hands-on, owning and driving global product marketing campaigns and product launches 
  • Working with a cross functional team to help shape the Product Marketing strategy 
  • Define and communicate compelling and differentiated value propositions for Vix products to drive engagement and upsells, attracting new customers whilst nurturing existing customers 
  • Take a leading role on sales enablement, sales training and internal marketing on Vix propositions
  • Bring user experience focus to all aspects of Vix propositions
  • Establish clear understanding of competitors’ positioning and approach to market
  • Support planning and execution to improve Vix competitiveness across multiple dimensions based on competitor assessments
  • In key markets, support the development of differentiated propositions and product marketing plans based upon detailed research of market, customer needs and user behaviours
  • Support researching new markets and the development of go-to-market plans for new market entry
  • Support development of product pricing framework for Vix based on market insights
  • Participate in upstream engagement with key stakeholders such as consultants, trade bodies and analysts to demonstrate Vix thought leadership and shape the future of the industry
  • Contribute to key bids and tenders with particular emphasis on vision and differentiation
  • Take a leading role in ensuring product documentation is fit-for-purpose for multiple audiences and functions
  • Lead a team of product marketing professionals who continuously move Vix positioning forward in the market
  • Work closely with Product Managers, POs and key stakeholders across the business, reporting to Head of Product Management

Qualifications

  • Primary degree in technology or business discipline Marketing qualification

  • Significant experience and strong track record in Product Marketing – 10 years+ minimum in Technology
  • Proven track record of defining and driving winning propositions to global markets
  • Success in driving transition to SaaS propositions
  • Track record in delivering product differentiation within IOT/Big data/SaaS
  • Success in evolving product pricing models for multiple markets 
  • Track record of bringing end user focus to B2B products
  • Demonstrable experience of partnering with Product Management and broader Marketing teams
  • Experience of building product marketing teams
  • Experience of both public and private sector environments is especially desirable
